Custom Ceremonies That Honor Your Loved One's Life

One of the final gifts you can give your loved one is a custom ceremony that celebrates their life with honor and meaning. Compassionately, I gather stories and special memories about your family member or friend. Then, with heartfelt passion, I design a ceremony using selected readings, music, rituals, symbolism, and engaging storytelling that celebrate one's life and legacy.

Trained as a ceremonial specialist, I am here to create a personalized experience that reflects one's beliefs and values and to ensure that the ceremony truly reflects the person you are honoring.

I will:

  • Meet with the family for two hours in person or via Zoom or Facetime to listen to stories and memories of your loved one

  • Identify ways for the family to contribute to the ceremony

  • Research, write, and officiate the ceremony

  • Allow the family to revise or enhance the content

  • Work seamlessly with other funeral professionals

  • Serve with compassion, respect, professionalism, dignity, and humility

  • Free travel costs if less than 30 miles from Estero

A Word About Fees

The fees for a custom funeral or celebration-of-life ceremony can vary depending on the ceremony's complexity, length, and location. Schedule a no-obligation consultation to discuss your needs and to receive a quote.

*Full payment is due if the ceremony is scheduled within 14 days from the date requested.

It wouldn't have been as special without Joan telling my mom's story so creatively and with heart.  Everyone felt her life in the room.  We're all very thankful.

Matt F.

"In my grief, I wanted to leave all the planning up to Joan. But in her gentle way, she encouraged me to think about how I wanted to best honor my husband's life."

Kathy M.

"Joan speaks with such strength and groundedness. She is confident but in a gentle and calming way."
